“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,” Matthew 25:35.
Joseph Storehouse Food Pantry and Supply Center is our outreach ministry and benevolence service which provides non-perishable food items and basic household items to those experiencing financial hardship.
The Food Pantry is an Emergency Supplemental Food Program that provides one week’s worth of non-perishable food for those in our community who have a need. We are members of the Connecticut Food Bank and we utilize the Client Choice method and Point System. This means the client chooses the foods they prefer using a certain amount of points that offer them a healthy balance of proteins, fruits, vegetables and grains. The Food Pantry is open Mondays only from 3–6pm by appointment. Please call the office first for a phone intake.
The Supply Center is a clothes closet (for men, women, children and infants) that also provides other basic household essentials, such as kitchen and bathroom accessories, bedding, small furniture items, books and more. Donations are strictly for individuals and families that are low income, are unemployed and have no other income, or are on disability with limited income. All of our donations are received by the community for the community, are “gently used” and at no cost to the public. The Supply Center is open Saturdays only from 10am–2pm.
Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.
